The focus of the Force Command Centre is on making every contact count by ‘getting it right first time’ and ensuring an efficient and effective customer journey as well as seeking to address the maximum number of service calls at the first point of contact within a 24 hour capability.
To participate in the efficient, effective operation of the Force’s Command Centre and in answering and responding to calls of either an emergency or non-emergency nature, providing a high quality service to members of the public, police officers and police staff.
We offer full time (37 hours) or two preferred flexible working options, 18.5 hours, or 24.67 hours on rotating shifts which cover 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Ideally, you will need to remain full time until such time as you achieve competence in each of the three skill areas. However, if radio dispatch training is significantly delayed, consideration will be given to reduction of hours once competent in 101 and 999 call taking which is likely to take around four to five months.
The basic commencing salary will be within Scale C/bar/D £18,486 (£20,155 when proficient) rising by regular increments to a maximum of £22,275.
In addition to basic salary, a 20% shift allowance is payable for staff undertaking 24/7working. This makes the commencing salary £22,183 inclusive of shift allowance, rising by increments to a maximum of £26,730. An enhancement can also be claimed for hours worked at weekends.
