To deploy and operate the Alliance ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) system to assist in the prevention and detection of vehicle related and other crime by undertaking the following:
- To oversee the installation and maintenance aspects of the Alliance ANPR systems, fixed, mobile and portable and associated ancillary equipment, liaising with manufacturers, contractors, engineers, operators and Alliance information managements systems as required thereby ensuring the integrity of the ANPR system.
- To liaise on a technical level and support negotiations with third parties for example other forces, highways authorities, local councils, contractors government departments and counter terrorism commands to ensure the Alliance ANPR system is current and fit for purpose and be accountable to the ANPR Manager for the system capability and integrity.
- To ensure that ANPR systems remain compliant with currant NPCC, Home Office and national ANPR technical standards, and interface with the public service network within both Dorset and D&CP networks in a secure manner through the use of compliant IT products.
- To facilitate and populate the Alliance ANPR databases to maintain the effectiveness of all Alliance ANPR systems, overseeing the daily administration of the ANPR Back Office system, hotlists, users and cameras.

The commencing salary will be within Grade 4 starting at £19,521 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £21,618 per annum.
