Room Attendant

Knoll House Hotel

Aim of Role:

To undertake the cleaning of bedrooms, bathrooms and public areas to a high quality standard and to ensure all facilities are functioning correctly. To self-check allocated rooms to the minimum hotel standard and rectify if standard is below expectations.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Service public area to a high standard as directed by the Head Housekeeper at all times
  • Service any guest bedrooms and bathrooms to the required standards at all times
  • Replace and restock all items provided for the guest use to standard within each guest room
  • Complete any periodic or deep cleaning as and when required
  • Report any lost property immediately and follow correct procedure


  • Maintain and check all equipment regularly and report any defects
  • Report any room defects or damage immediately and ensure it is correctly logged
  • Ensure all equipment and chemicals are used correctly and to manufacturer’s instructions
  • Check and reject any linen not to Company Standard
  • Be responsible for own development in the Workplace    
  • Attend any training as and when required including Health and Safety


  • Ensure your service area is well stocked and clean at all times
  • Adhere to personal appearance standards at  all times
  • Help colleagues should they require assistance
  • Treat all colleagues with respect
  • Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment
  • Ensure all keys are kept secure whilst on shift
  • To report any suspicious behaviour


  • Complete any other reasonable task when requested to do so by Supervisors and Management
  • Look for any inconveniences to our guests and act upon them
  • Always look for ways to go the extra mile with all of our guests
  • Identify sales leads during guest discussions and feedback to hotel sales manager
  • Show personal initiative when dealing with guests to help generate “Wow” moments during the stay
  • Be a key face and character in the hotel animating your department and guest experiences
  • Be an ambassador for Kingfisher resorts

Reporting To:

Housekeeping Supervisor and Head Housekeeper

Skills and Attributes:

To successfully fill this role we are looking for an individual who possess the following:

  • Good communication skills
  • Previous hotel and housekeeping experience desirable
  • Ability to work on own as well as part of a team
  • Good attention to detail
  • Positive and welcoming attitude
  • Good level of customer service
  • Flexibility to work the hours as set by the business


The position is permanent part or full time, £8.21 per hour, with meals on duty and available live in option for the right candidate.
